{guest writer} sunday stories with emmerson

Hi! My name is Emmerson.

I'm 11 years old and just like my mom, I love to write.

I wanted to share my stories with you!

This is my first one, called "The Portal."

Once upon a time, there was a teenager reading in the library. As she opened her book, there was a bright light shining inside of it. She got a closer look and then she was falling through it! When she glanced around her, she was in a dark hallway. In front of her, there was a door. She got up and walked slowly towards it. When she opened it, all she saw were books everywhere! This was her dream! She took a closer look at the books. Then she realized something...they were all about her hometown's past! All of a sudden, she was pulled backward towards the portal. Back in the library, she started to wonder about her hometown. While she was thinking, a problem was approaching.

Will she conquer it?

tuesday letters {on a wednesday}

Dear Bedroom,

You're perfect. I love you. I love my nighttime routine and the way the light shines in from the window. I love the look of an unmade bed and the thought of crawling back in stays with me all day. (Also, thank you Husband for the dream bedroom.)

Dear Ferns,

Keep being big and beautiful, you sassy, voluptuous things, you.

Dear Jack and Owen,

You are getting TOO big for Aunt Lala to keep up with. Please pause until I see you again. Kthanks.

Dear Book Lovers,

Have you ever been "booked out"? I read (slash listened to) almost 200 books last year and this year I can barely find a single one worth finishing! What is happening?

Dear Allergies/Germs/Sickness,

Go. Away.
