gtkY: Kelsey Inspired

Our first gtkY is Kelsey from Kelsey Inspired. I stumbled onto Kelsey's blog not too long ago and was totally hooked from there! Kelsey covers everything in her blog, from fashion to crafts, life and love. Plus, she and her husband (her college sweetheart!) just returned to the states from living in Grenada...a place I had never heard of until reading about it on her blog! Enjoy getting to know my friend, Kelsey!

  1. Why did you start your blog? I was living in Grenada with a lot of time on my hands and was making a new "craft" every day and I wanted to join the blogging community to get ideas from others and to share mine!
  2. What is your name? (Or what do you wish you were named?) Kelsey.  In college there was this boy who mistakenly called me Regina once and I fell in love with that name.
  3. When is your birthday? April 13th
  4. Name 3 jobs you’ve had in your life. Waitress, Professional grocery shopper {serious} and I am currently{temporarily} substitute teaching
  5. If you could have ANY job, what would you do? I wish I had studied social work.  After spending 2 years in Grenada my eyes were opened to all the suffering and injustice in the world and I want to be able to help people.  Perhaps once my husband finishes medical school we could go into missions of some sort... but I see myself working in whatever community I'm living in and just loving people.
  6. What are you most afraid of? closed spaces and falling off of something high.
  7. What was your favorite item as a child? I have a stuffed lion that I {still} love.  I think I blogged about it once
  8. What are 3 movies you could watch over and over? Elf, Love and Basketball, and I Dreamed of Africa.
  9. Your dream vacation would be… GRENADA! I miss it so much. can you tell?
  10. What are 3 websites you visit daily? Pinterest, Facebook, and Blogger to read all my blogs I follow!
  11. Must have snacks? Oatmeal cream pies and sour gummy worms
  12. Go-to outfit and hair?  A dress and a braid
  13. Do you eat the stems of broccoli? yes, I just started like broccoli in the past couple months though.  I ate it deep fried the other day! delicious!
  14. Favorite ice-cream? Blue Moo Cookie Dough
  15. Favorite day of the week? Friday
  16. What do you do most often when you are bored? Pinterest or actually make stuff with my hands
  17. What is your favorite board game? does Yahtzee count?
  18. Favorite smell? Ohio in the spring time.
  19. What’s under your bed? yikes. a lot.  All of my husband and I's belongings are crammed into my high school bedroom at my parents.  So I think dishes, books, and probably magazines.
  20. Which useless superhero power do you wish you possessed? to not get burnt by my hot glue gun?
  21. If you could meet one person dead or alive, who would it be? My Grandma!  She passed away when I was 6months old and I've always heard stories about how wonderful she was... and she was a crafter so I bet she has some good tips!

Thank you so much for playing, Kelsey! Everyone, go and check her site out: Kelsey Inspired!
Don't forget to "follow" her, too!

gtkY: getting to know YOU!

You may have read in my last post how I was going to be showing some love towards my fellow bloggers...

well...(insert theme music and transition)

I introduce to you, my new mini blog series:

getting to know YOU!

I have 15 of my very favorite bloggers (celebrities in my mind) that have graciously accepted the opportunity to answer silly, fun, simple questions about themselves.

I'm so excited to get to know them beyond their blogs. My husband laughs at me when I tell him about you all. "My friend is pregnant!" "My friend and her husband are moving, too!" "My friend has the cutest outfit today!"

He thinks we have to meet and actually, ya know, talk to each other to be friends
I see it as we share each other's diaries of our lives... pretty much friend material right there!

Anyways, gtkY will be a twice a week special. I urge you to check out each one and follow them if you haven't already!

Our first gtkY will be this Thursday!
See you then!

Mini Messages

(Day Date before the David Crowder* Band Concert last November)

Dear Mr. Cough,
You have over-stayed your visit by a mile. Please leave. Now is great time.

Dear Olive,
This past winter you "became a woman!" I never thought the first time I had to buy diapers would be for my dog. It was fun and all, but your surgery is in the process of being scheduled.

Dear BCF,
You hold such a warm, strong grip on my heart. It was on your campus that I met and fell madly in love with Husband. It was on your campus that I worked side by side with the President and all the wonderful (and I truly mean, wonderful!) staff. It was on your campus that I graduated with my B.A. degree and now, on your campus, I get to work once again while Husband finishes his degree. I lovelovelove you.

Dear blogworld friends,
I haven't ever spoken to most of you and many of you I've never met, but I feel like such close friends! Reading your blogs about your daily joys, struggles, love, and faith bring such happiness to my heart! I plan on doing things in the near future to show my gratitude.

Dear Husband,
It's been a whirlwind of events this past month, but I'd fight through every storm with you by my side. I'm already in love with our new life. It's like a breath of fresh air, a complete blessing from God. I love you, Handsome. Thank you for following God's will, I'm always right behind.

Photography Session Giveaway!

Jennifer Blair from Jennifer Blair Photography is hosting her first session giveaway!

She is a long time friend of my Husband and through him and blogging we have became friends. She blindly followed Christ as He led her to quit her job and pursue photography full time. It's impossible to tell that she just started not even a year ago! Her work is so vintage-ly beautiful!

I'm encouraging you all to check out her work and join in the giveaway!
(Although, I'm also trying to win the giveaway...so good luck!)

Hello, New Year!

Also, thanks for letting me rant.)

Now, on to happier things!
Am I the only one who cannot believe that a whole other year has passed?!
2011 was full of ups and downs, but I made it out (and with a Husband!)
I'm sososo excited for 2012.
There's a whole new chapter about to begin for my little family. I have no idea how the story ends, but I'm absolutely a-ok with that!

Some of you may remember me starting a "23 before 23" list.
Well, let's just say... I failed. Life happened so fast, I couldn't keep up!
Excuses, excuses, I know!

So, I am going to start this new year with my "24 before 24!"
